Limitless Wrestling Academy
Grand Prix Night Two
April 8th, 2018
Pre-Show
- Fans quickly filled the building, eagerly discussing the results from Night One as well as speculating on who would walk out victorious.
- Ashley Cross and Drake were once again on hand for commentary, both more than happy to pose for pictures with fans.
- Merchandise tables were set up, with Skye Healy once again manning the booth. The Neon Generation (Romeo Black and Koji Uchiha) were on hand for this event, assisting her where needed.
- As has become custom, Kenneth James Bradford made Limitless students form a wall between him and fans. The wall extended to block the Badd Breed from interacting with him as well, with Erik Holland in particular having three students between him and KJB.
Results
Block B Match
Yoji Kojima (0-1) vs. Aaron Gresham (0-1)
Both men suffered defeat on Night One, giving them added incentive to walk away with the victory tonight. Gresham looked to use his veteran skills against the young rookie, frustrating him with his unorthodox style in the early goings. It was as Gresham looked to hit the Nicaraguan Kick (Yakuza Kick) that Yoji saw his opening, ducking underneath before connecting with a chop block to the previously injured leg. Yoji continued the attack, working over the leg much like KJB did the previous night. Gresham looked to fight his way back, only for Yoji to surprise him with the green mist while the ref found himself distracted. Unable to see, Gresham was left wide open for the Gaijin Killer (Curb Stomp), giving Yoji the win in what many fans considered a surprising upset.
Result: Yoji Kojima (1-1) defeated Aaron Gresham (0-2) at 11:37 by pinfall via Gaijin Killer (Curb Stomp)
Block A Match
Spectre (0-1) vs. Clay Krueger (1-0)
Jake Archer once again accompanied Spectre to the ring, loudly declaring the previous night was a fluke and that Spectre would still remain victorious. As he locked up with Clay, it quickly became apparent that the man known as Chainsaw was not going to make this an easy night. While Holland may have utilized the power game, Clay went for a more methodical approach, slowly breaking Spectre down through a variety of suplexes and holds. Seeing the match slowly slip from his hands, Archer hopped onto the apron, drawing the attention of both Clay and the ref. With Clay distracted, Spectre went for the quick roll up, only to be pushed off at the last second by Clay. Spectre was sent flying towards Archer, stopping at the last possible moment before collision. After assuring each other that they were fine, Spectre turned back to Clay, only to be cut in half by a vicious Chainsaw Blade (Spear). Clay gave Archer a smile as the ref made the count, simply holding up two fingers in the GOAT’s face.
Result: Clay Krueger (2-0) defeated Spectre (0-2) at 9:18 by pinfall via Chainsaw Blade (Spear)
Block B Match
Joe Stanton (0-1) vs. Kenneth James Bradford (1-0)
Bradford started the match by pointing at Aaron Gresham, declaring that he had already defeated one half of the former Kamikaze Pro Tag champs; after tonight, he could claim to be better than both members of Smokin’ Joe and the Electric Dream Machine. Joe looked on in amusement before connecting with a solid right hand, sending KJB to the outside. From there the match descended into a brawl, Joe quickly taking the advantage. KJB used every dirty trick in the book to regain and hold the advantage, quickly stopping Joe every time the Guy In Shades looked to build momentum. Feeling confident in his chances, KJB grabbed the arm, looking to lock in the Kingdom Rule (bridging crossface). Feeling the match slipping, Joe rolled through the attempt before catching everyone by surprise and nailing a lightning-fast Shoryuken (Rising Uppercut) for the victory.
Result: Joe Stanton (1-1) defeated Kenneth James Bradford (1-1) at 13:01 by pinfall via Shoryuken (Rising Uppercut)
Intermission
Block A Match
Izzy Van Doren (0-1) vs. Migeru Takahashi (0-1)
Much like the opening contest, Izzy and Migeru came in looking to get their first win of the tournament. Izzy’s smash mouth style took Migeru off-guard, surprising the international star and keeping him on the back foot during the early portion of the match. Migeru managed to weather to storm, fighting his way back into the match after catching a dive from Izzy and countering it into Kurushimi (Air Crash Raid Neckbreaker). From there Migeru looked to work over the neck, including a european uppercut that left Izzy in a daze. Looking for the end, Migeru lifted Izzy to her feet, hooking her for a suplex. Lifting Izzy in the air, Migeru looked for Sweet Serenity (Brainbuster on the knee), only for Izzy to slip out behind him and connect with a leaping neckbreaker. Knowing how close she was to defeat, Izzy grabbed Migeru in position for Adios, Amigos (Headlock Driver). As she looked to hit the move, Migeru slipped his head free, grabbing onto Izzy’s arm and delivering the Spotlight (wristlock lariat) for the victory.
Result: Migeru Takahashi (1-1) defeated Izzy Van Doren (0-2) at 11:42 by pinfall via Spotlight (Wristlock Lariat)
Block B Match
Honey (1-0) vs. Starr (1-0)
The crowd quickly found themselves split on this one, cheering for both competitors as the bell ring. Sharing a handshake, Starr and Honey circled the ring before locking up, engaging in a lightning fast match. Both competitors took to the skies often, the lucha libre styles meshing together perfectly and leaving the fans on the edge of their seats. After hitting the Noggin Knocker (Ushigoroshi), Starr moved quickly into position, ready to connect with the Starrstruck (Superkick to kneeling opponent followed by inverted overdrive). As he went for the superkick, Honey ducked underneath before springing to her feet, looking to connect with Honey’s Ultimagic (Jumping Spike DDT into a guillotine choke). As she leapt up, Starr used her momentum, connecting with a northern lights suplex before popping up to his feet. Bouncing off the ropes, Starr caught a rising Honey with the John Wilkes Boot (Rear Yakuza Kick), quickly covering and getting the victory!
Result: Starr (2-0) defeated Honey (1-1) by pinfall via John Wilkes Boot (Rear Yakuza Kick)
Main Event
Block A Match
Michael Hayden (1-0) vs. Erik Holland (1-0)
Michael Hayden came out wearing an Erik Holland shirt, staring the Badd Breed leader in the eyes with a smirk on his face. Once in the ring, the two shared a handshake before the bell rang, Holland cracking a smirk before reminding him that “everyone dies.” Holland quickly displayed the power game, landing several moves in quick succession that left the Limitless founder struggling to get to his feet. Realizing he needed to adapt quickly, Hayden began to focus his attacks on the left arm of Holland, suffering several blows as he did so. Holland began to favor his arm as the minutes ticked by, struggling just a bit to hit the same moves he had delivered earlier in the match. Hayden continued to weather the storm, taking several high impact moves while continuing to attack the arm when possible. As Holland looked to end it with Project: GABRIEL (Pedigree), Hayden spun out, connecting with a Pele Kick to the arm that left Holland clutching in pain. Seeing his opportunity, Hayden leaped on Holland’s back, looking to lock in the Limitless Lock. Hooking the injured arm, Hayden looked to lock in the choke, only to be surprised as Holland muscled him onto his shoulders, taking no time in delivering the Toxic Avenger (Attitude Adjustment)! The pinfall was academic, advancing Holland to 2-0.
Result: Erik Holland (2-0) defeated Michael Hayden (1-1) at 18:51 by pinfall via Toxic Avenger (Attitude Adjustment)
