Block A Triple Threat Match
Erik Holland vs. Migeru Takahashi vs. Michael Hayden
All three men approached this cautiously, knowing that they had at least one more match later on in the night. Holland was the first to strike, connecting with a thunderous elbow to Hayden that sent him to the outside. Not to be left out, Migeru quickly grabbed Holland, dumping him with a german suplex that only got a two. What followed was a mixture of styles, as Holland’s brawling, Hayden’s submission, and Migeru’s strong style meshed well for an exciting match up. An impressive Tower of Doom only got a near fall, as did a Doomsday Device onto Hayden. Hayden rolled to the outside as Migeru and Hayden exchanged strikes, the sounds echoing through the building as neither was willing to back down. Migeru got the better of that exchange, connecting with several slaps in succession before going for a spinning backfist, only for Holland to duck and connect with Plan 9 From Outer Space (Superman Punch). With Migeru stunned, Holland placed him in position for the Toxic Avenger (Attitude Adjustment), only for Migeru to slip out the back before connecting with a lightning fast Spotlight (wristlock lariat). Migeru only got a two before Hayden pulled Migeru to the outside, shoving him into the ring post before sliding in the ring. Hayden began to lift Holland up, only to be hoisted in the air for the Toxic Avenger for the win.
Result: Erik Holland defeated Michael Hayden and Migeru Takahashi at 16:37 by pinfall via Toxic Avenger (Attitude Adjustment)
Post match, Migeru entered the ring as Holland made it to his feet, extending his hand. Holland accepted the gesture to cheers from the crowd as Hayden slowly made his way to the back.
Tag Team Match
Sign of the Cross (Marilyn Lee Cross and Ashley Cross) vs. Izzy Van Doren and Honey
These four women were no strangers to one another, as Marilyn and Ashley had fought Izzy in separate matches while Marilyn and Honey had competed in Honey’s debut. As such, the feeling out process seemingly took no time at all, as Ashley and MLC quickly took control of the match after a hot start from Izzy and Honey. The Cross sisters began to work over Izzy, with Ashley using her high flying while Marilyn took a more ground based approach. This strategy seemed to work well, with the crowd getting behind Izzy and her never say die attitude as the Cross sisters continued. It was as they set Izzy up for a Doomsday Device that Izzy made her move, avoiding the clothesline and spiking Marilyn with an inverted frankensteiner. A tag to Honey saw the Cross sisters be put on the defensive, as Honey quickly took both down with a series of quick strikes. Ashley tried to rally, but a backdrop sent her down to the outside, followed by a suicide dive from Izzy that wiped both out. Inside the ring, Honey connected with a strong knee before leaping in the air for Honey’s Ultimagic (Jumping DDT into a Guillotine), only for Marilyn to toss her off at the last second. Honey made it back to her feet, only for MLC to launch forward with the Rocket Kick (Discus Big Boot). Izzy tried to break up the pin, only for Ash to hold on to her leg as the three count was made.
Result: Sign of the Cross (Marilyn Lee and Ashley Cross) defeated Izzy Van Doren and Honey by pinfall at 11:08 via Rocket Kick (Discus Big Boot)
As Honey and Izzy made their way to the back, “The Best Of You” began to play as Jake Archer and Spectre made their way to the ring, immediately going on the offensive. Archer declared that there was a conspiracy to keep Spectre out of the Finals, as evidenced by placing him against elite opponents and conspiring to hold him back. Now that all eyes were on him, Archer put forth an open challenge, demanding someone come out to take on the uncrowned champion himself. The challenge was answered quickly, as Brent Koleman made his way to the ring, eager to make a name for himself in Limitless.
Special Challenge Match
Brent Koleman vs. Spectre w/ Jake Archer
Spectre rushed forward, only to be immediately dropped with the British Cannon (single leg dropkick)! Archer threw a fit at ringside as the ref counted three, awarding the victory to Koleman on his debut!
Result: Brent Koleman defeated Spectre at 0:06 by pinfall via British Cannon (Single Leg Dropkick)
Archer pulled Spectre out to the safety of the outside, loudly declaring that Koleman wouldn’t get away with disrespecting his client. Koleman simply shrugged as he began to play to the crowd, happy to have made a memorable debut.
Special Challenge Match
Kenneth James Bradford vs. Aaron Gresham
These two last met in the Grand Prix, with KJB taking the win after working over the leg for the duration of the match. Showing he had learned from their previous encounter, Gresham started off cautiously, making sure to avoid KJB’s attempts at shooting in on him. Staying defensive minded, Gresham was able to use KJB’s momentum against him, narrowly avoiding a charge before connecting with a Nicaraguan Kick on the rebound that sent KJB to the outside.
Once back in the ring, KJB connected with a quick thumb to the eye, leaving Gresham wide open to a hard clothesline. Looking to continue where he left off in their last match, KJB began to target the leg once more, going through a variety of attacks to weaken his opponent. An attempt at the Figure Four Leglock was reversed into a small package for two, which left KJB filled with rage. Picking Gresham up, KJB began to yell in his face, declaring that Limitless was his place to shine. KJB swung with a right, only for Gresham to duck underneath while grabbing the left arm. A clubbing forearm to the back seemed to weaken KJB, allowing Gresham to connect with the Bee’s Knees (V-Trigger), both men going down. Fighting through the pain, Gresham stumbled to his feet before grabbing the legs, locking in Eat The Mat! KJB realized the danger he was in as Gresham placed his foot on KJB’s head, looking to end things once and for all. A moment’s hesitation was all Aaron needed, completing the move and getting the victory.
Result: Aaron Gresham defeated Kenneth James Bradford at 13:21 by pinfall via Eat The Mat (Curb Stomp)
Before intermission, Michael Hayden came out to the ring with a microphone in hand. Addressing the crowd, Hayden informed everyone that Starr was unable to make the show due to his recovery. Rather than drag things out anymore than they already had, Hayden announced that the main event would see Erik Holland, Clay Krueger, and Joe Stanton compete in a triple threat match to determine who would be crowned the first Limitless Champion.
Intermission
All three men in the main event seemed surprised by this news, with Holland and Stanton in particular shaking hands before the two began to prepare for their upcoming match. When questioned as to who he would support, Aaron Gresham refused to answer, instead saying he would be happy no matter who won. Jake Archer was less than polite, all but declaring war on Brent Koleman following his match against Spectre. To his credit, Koleman seemed unfazed by this, instead seen talking with Honey for most of intermission. Sign of the Cross were seen selling merch, with Kid Terra of TMNT seen sporting one as the night progressed.
Tag Team Warfare
Shoot Nation (Maverick and Ice Man) vs. Battleborn (James Price and Angel Torres) vs. The Mighty Now Thrive (Null and Kid Terra)
Right away, Maverick and Ice Man slid to the outside, choosing to let Battleborn and TMNT do battle. Quickly dispatching of Kid Terra, Battleborn went to work on Null, punishing him with several double team moves before gorilla pressing him over the top rope onto the floor. Entering the ring, Kid Terra looked to use his speed, managing to duck underneath a double clothesline attempt before springboarding off the ropes, connecting with a missile dropkick that had both men stumbling. Terra hopped back up to his feet, springboarding once more with a crossbody attempt. Torres and Price were better prepared, catching him in mid-air. Shoot Nation would enter the ring at this point, connecting with a double dropkick to Battleborn’s back that sent them crashing forward and crushing Kid Terra in the process.
Shoot Nation would continue to use a hit and run strategy for most of the match, attacking only when Torres and Price were unaware. TMNT were more upfront in their attacks, with Null and Kid Terra willingly trading hands with Battleborn. While it didn’t seem to work out for them at first, a combination of determination and Shoot Nation attacking slowly began to chip away at Battleborn, causing them to make slight mistakes as the match progressed. Keeping one eye out for a possible sneak attack, Torres missed Null climbing the top rope, connecting with The Void (Diving Meteora)! With his partner in danger, Price entered the ring, only to be met with a double dropkick from TMNT that sent him stumbling towards the ropes. Maverick and Ice Man held the rope down as Price tumbled back, causing him to fall to the outside as they swarmed over him. Inside the ring, Torres managed to get to his feet, only to be swarmed by Null and Terra. A double kick combo left Torres dazed, with Terra connecting with a cutter as Null made his way to the top once more. Looking to the crowd, Null would leap off with a stunning Shooting Star Press as Shoot Nation dragged Terra to the outside, tossing him into the ring post. Sliding in quickly, Maverick would break up the pinfall before tossing Null to the outside as Ice Man made the cover, stealing the victory.
Result: Shoot Nation (Maverick and Ice Man) defeated Battleborn (Angel Torres and James Price) and The Mighty Now Thrive (Null and Kid Terra) by pinfall via Shooting Star Press
Before the main event began, Michael Hayden made his way out once more, Limitless Title in hand. Speaking briefly, he thanked everyone for coming out before stating that a lot of work and time went into crowning our first champion. He was proud of the work that everyone had put in so far, and he would personally hand over the Limitless title to the winner. Each man made his entrance, shaking hands with Hayden and eyeing the title.
Main Event
Triple Threat Match for the Limitless Title
Erik Holland vs. Clay Krueger vs. Joe Stanton
With this being his second triple threat of the evening, Holland approached this match cautiously, not wanting to tire himself out too soon. Stanton and Krueger gave him little reprieve, taking it to the leader of the Badd Breed before tossing him out after a double back body drop. Turning towards one another, Krueger and Stanton began to trade hands, with Stanton taking the advantage after a brief back and forth. Backing Clay into the corner, Stanton whipped him into the opposite corner before charging in, only to be met by a Chainsaw Blade! Clay made the cover, only getting two as Holland lifted him in the air, tossing him overhead with a gutwrench suplex. Turning back to Stanton, Holland lifted him into position for Project: GABRIEL (Pedigree), only for Stanton to back drop Holland before connecting with Keep Quiet (Sliding D). Stanton would go for a cover, only for Clay to break up the pin with a running double stomp. Stanton rolled to the side as Clay lifted Holland to his feet, only to be surprised with a stunning headbutt that sent Clay reeling. Tossing Clay to the outside with Stanton, Holland takes a look at the crowd before bouncing off the ropes connecting with Attack of the 50 Foot Holland (suicide dive)! The crowd cheered wildly as all three men struggled to get to their feet, feeling the effects of the past few minutes.
Back inside the ring, Krueger looked to pick his spot, maneuvering around Holland as Stanton looked to recover on the outside. Moving around, Clay slowly began to tire Holland out, ducking underneath the Plan 9 From Outer Space (Superman Punch) before shoving Holland into the ropes. Feeling the effects of two matches, Holland was noticeably slower on the way back, allowing Krueger to connect with a jumping back elbow that knocked him down. Krueger began attacking the midsection, pausing only to attack Stanton as he tried to get in. Holland looked to fight back, connecting with several shots before an errant right hand was countered into an impressive Strike Back (Overhead Belly to Belly) for two. Knowing the end was near, Krueger managed to drag Holland close to the ropes, preparing for his End of the World finisher. Jumping up, Krueger Twisted in the air, only to meet the canvas as Holland rolled out of the way just in time. Clutching his midsection, Krueger stumbled to his feet, only to be sent outside after Stanton connected with Crossroads Blues (Cobra Clutch Slam). Turning to Holland, Joe began to lift him up, only for Holland to surprise everyone by springing up and getting Joe on his shoulders! Toxic Avenger- NO! Joe landed on his feet! Holland went in for the kill with another Plan 9, only for Joe to knock him out of the air with the Shoryuken! Holland crumpled onto the mat as Joe made the cover, Clay just a second too late in breaking the three.
Result: Joe Stanton defeated Clay Krueger and Erik Holland at 17:38 by pinfall via Shoryuken (Dragon Punch)
The fans began to cheer as the announcement was made, loudly applauding all three men’s efforts. The Limitless roster slowly made their way around the ring, with Izzy Van Doren and Aaron Gresham sliding in to congratulate Joe. Michael Hayden entered with the Limitless title in hand, pausing momentarily to give an apologetic shrug to Clay before shaking Joe’s hand and awarding him the title. The last image was of the roster and crowd both celebrating as Joe Stanton held the gold high, forever known as the first Champion.
