Limitless Wrestling Presents
A Sound of Thunder
October 6th, 2018
Pre-Show
- Fans were treated to a surprise early on, as Drake was seen working the merch booth. Using a cane, Drake told fans that he was out for the foreseeable future, though he was optimistic that he would be back in action before the end of the year.
- Jake Archer and Spectre were seen loudly mocking Eddy Poe, with Spectre’s usual facepaint replaced with a poor impression of Eddy’s. The duo put on a show highlighting Jake’s eventual win, stopping only when Poe seemed to watch on with amusement.
- Izzy Van Doren and Ashley Cross were kept separate from Lena Skye and Kem Dynamo after what occurred a few days ago during the Rose City/Sakura Pro She-1 Summit. Marilyn Lee Cross seemed to be caught in the middle before retreating to Yona Blake and TMNT.

Opening Contest
Ian Hathaway vs. Nate Anderson
Returning last month to answer Clay Krueger’s open challenge, Ian Hathaway was once again welcomed back by the San Diego crowd. Always known as a free spirit, Hathaway seemed at ease through the early portions of the match, almost toying with Nate. The tranquility was interrupted as Nate looked to turn the momentum, countering a hurricanrana attempt with a snap powerbomb before connecting with a senton for two. Looking to continue momentum, Nate begin to mount a strong comeback, even getting a close two after the Nate Bomb (Running Ligerbomb). Seeing his moment, Nate began to scale the top rope, looking to deliver the Giant Leap For Mankind (Shooting Star Press). Ian was able to make it to his feet, catching Nate with a leaping palm strike that left Nate dazed on the turnbuckle. Climbing to the top, Ian connected with a hurricanrana, sending Nate crashing down to the center of the ring. As Nate looked to make it to his feet, Ian rushed forward, connecting with the Free Your Mind (Rear Yakuza Kick) for the victory in a thrilling opening match.
Result: Ian Hathaway defeated Nate Anderson at 11:21 by pinfall via Free Your Mind (Rear Yakuza Kick)
Tag Team Invitational
Shoot Nation (Maverick & Ice Man) vs. NO MERSEY (Nathan Wayne & Gaz McGuinty)
No one expected this match to be pretty, especially given the reputation of the four men involved in the match. Gaz and Ice Man in particular exchanged stiff strikes on the outside, both men refusing to yield to one another. Inside the ring, Nathan and Maverick exchanged forearms before Nathan sent him into the corner, connecting with a running dropkick. Stumbling out of the corner, Maverick was wide open for a thunderous spinebuster, driving the wind right out of him as Gaz slid into the ring. The two began to stomp on Maverick before the ref finally gained control, forcing Nathan to the corner. A bloody Ice Man tackled Gaz to the ground, connecting with several strikes as Maverick rolled to the outside.
Picking up where they left off on the outside, Ice Man and Gaz continued the brawl inside the ring, with Gaz digging into the cut on Ice Man’s head. A well placed forearm opened the wound even further, allowing Gaz and Nathan to work him over with seamless teamwork. An inverted atomic drop followed by another forearm smash seemed to spell the end, but Ice Man was able to kick out at the last second. Sensing the end, Gaz knocked Maverick off the apron as Nathan wrapped Ice Man in the Born to Run (Kneeling Reverse Sharpshooter). Gaz quickly locked in THE Wristlock (Grounded Top Wristlock) as well, forcing Ice Man to scream in pain as the duo from Liverpool looked to force the tap out. Looking close to tapping, Ice Man was saved as Maverick connected with a hard clothesline to Nathan before kicking Gaz off. Dragging his partner to the corner, Maverick hopped out before making the fresh tag. Entering like a house of fire, Maverick took down both men before tossing Nathan to the outside, only to be clobbered by Gaz. Looking to end this, Gaz sets Maverick up for the Devoed-T (Hammerlock DDT), only for Ice Man to attack from behind. Maverick lifted Gaz up, looking for the Shoot ‘Em (Death Sentence). As Ice Man prepared to leap, Nathan reappeared to shove him to the outside. Distracted, Maverick dropped Gaz to take a swing at Nathan, only to turn right into the Kop In The Cradle (Flash Pin), managing to hold on for the three!
Result: NO MERSEY (Gaz McGuinty & Nathan Wayne) defeated Shoot Nation (Maverick & Ice Man) at 16:05 by pinfall via Kop In The Cradle (Flash Pin)
Special Challenge Match
Caden Walker vs. Aguila
Before the match began, Caden Walker took a look at the merchandise booth, smiling directly at Drake. Nodding slightly, Caden turned back to Aguila, smiling once more. Knowing the uphill battle, Aguila looked to use his speed, striking Walker before moving away before Caden could lay a hand on him. This strategy seemed to work out well, Aguila rocking the big man and avoiding some of the bigger impact moves. It was as Aguila went for a springboard crossbody that Caden struck, catching the LuchaSoar in air and tossing him across the ring with ease. Struggling to his feet, Aguila was once again taken down, this time by a running clothesline from Walker. The next few minutes saw Caden look to break the luchador, including a frightening sidewalk slam that nearly ended the match. As Caden picked up the near-lifeless Aguila, Drake ran to the ring, yelling at the ref to put an end to this. Pausing only to give Drake a smile, Caden placed Aguila in position for the South Texas Death Ride (Running Powerbomb). Before he could lift Aguila up, Drake threw in the towel, officially awarding the contest to Caden.
Result: Caden Walker defeated Aguila at 8:21 via surrender
Post match, Walker continued to smile at Drake as the ref ushered Aguila to the outside, allowing Limitless students to take him to the back. Drake hesitantly made his way back to the merch booth as Caden picked up the towel, chuckling as he carried it with him to the back.
Special Challenge Match
Eddy Poe vs. “The GOAT” Jake Archer w/ Spectre
As the bell rang, Jake Archer walked to the center of the ring, loudly declaring that no amount of makeup could hide the ugly that was Eddy Poe, and that he would pay for even thinking he could stand against Archer or any of his clients. Poe responded with an open slap to the chest, knocking Archer down to the mat. Archer spent most of the match on the defensive, struggling to survive the onslaught of Eddy Poe. It was the assistance of Spectre on the outside that kept Archer alive, constantly running interference on the outside. It was after placing Archer’s leg on the bottom rope that Spectre caught the ire of Eddy Poe, the Detroit Zombie sliding to the outside and blasting Spectre with a standing Tenshi No Yah (Running Forearm). As Poe entered the ring, Archer connected with a superkick that only got a two count. Signalling for the end, Archer measured Poe before rushing forward, looking for the Move I Beat The World With (Handspring Salida Del Sol). As Archer leapt back, Poe connected with another standing Tenshi No Yah, dropping Archer like a rock before lifting him up for the Package Piledriver for the victory.
Result: Eddy Poe defeated Jake Archer at 12:19 by pinfall via Package Piledriver
The Invitational
Marilyn Lee Cross vs. Kem Dynamo
Both women entered this with much on their mind, as events from She-1 Summit event two nights ago looked to weigh on both women’s minds. Trying to put it to the side, Marilyn and Kem went into this match evenly matched in the early going. As the minutes ticked by, any trepidation seemed to fade as Marilyn and Kem tore into one another. Building off past matches in Portland Pro and Sakura, Marilyn looked to avoid the Lights Out DDT that spelled doom for her in their last encounter. Twice it looked like she would fall victim to the move after a wayward clothesline, but Marilyn was able to counter, ramming Kem into the turnbuckles as quickly as possible. It was as Kem looked to recover that Marilyn struck, connecting with the Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot) into the corner before shoving her to the ground. Surprisingly climbing the top rope, Marilyn looked into the sea of fans before leaping off, flying through the air for a beautiful frog splash. Unfortunately she came up short as Kem got the knees up just in time, knocking the wind out of her opponent. As Marilyn struggled to her feet, Kem wrapped her up, delivering the Lights Out (Cradle Hammerlock DDT) for the victory.
Result: Kem Dynamo defeated Marilyn Lee Cross by pinfall via Lights Out (Cradle Hammerlock DDT)
Intermission
With such a big card, many wrestlers were lined up to greet fans, take a few photos, and sign autographs while selling their merch. Many approached the PPW Portlandia Champion after her grueling match, congratulating her on her recent success and mentioning that they were rooting for her in the She-1 Summit. Not to be outdone, Jake Archer wore a She-1 Summit shirt, loudly declaring that Lena Skye would wipe the floor with her competition and claim victory, both in the tournament and in the RCW vs. Sakura match.
Null and Yona Blake were seen cuddling with one another, prompting a rolling of the eyes from Kid Terra before he shrugged and turned back towards the fans. Many fans approached Skye Healy and wished her luck in her first singles match at Limitless, soon joined by Ian Hathaway who stated that Skye would do wonderfully. The Cross Sisters could be seen deep in discussion while brother Elijah worked their merch, with Ashley pointing to her phone a few times before shaking her head and walking off. As she left, a riot nearly broke out as NO MERSEY and Shoot Nation had to be physically restrained, with Ice Man in particular promising that Gaz and Nathan hadn’t seen the last of them. Michael Hayden rushed to the scene, ordering Shoot Nation to the back before giving a parting look of anger at NO MERSEY, who simply smirked in response.
Tag Team Match
Jana Rikar & Yona Blake vs. The Mighty Now Thrive (Null & Kid Terra)
Coming back from intermission, fans were treated to a rather unique tag team match. It quickly became apparent that Terra was doing his best to keep Null on the outside, something that Jana in particular seemed to enjoy as she and Yona began to wear down Terra, all while Null stood on the outside with a visible smile. Teaming together last month, Jana and Yona looked to show off their team chemistry as they went to work on Kid Terra. The two wore down Terra, ending with a Hart Attack for a near two. As Jana lifted him up, Terra shoved her into the ropes, connecting with a flying knee on the rebound.
Making the tag, Null finally entered the contest, stopping in his tracks as Yona Blake entered as well. Hesitating briefly, Null and Yona embraced in a hug to the delight of the crowd, falling to the ground in a passionate embrace. Yona ended on top, getting the two count before Terra ran in to roll the couple over. With Null on top, the ref counted to two before Jana yanked Null off, tossing him to the side before reminding Yona that she was in a match. Likewise, Terra could be seen talking to Null, reminding him of the team aspect. The two merely nodded before shoving their partners to the side, embracing once more and rolling to the outside. Terra and Jana could only shake their heads at the actions before Jana took advantage, taking Terra to the mat with the Phoenix Pull (Bully Choke). Seeing Null and Yona on the outside, the ref simply shrugged and called for the bell as Terra tapped out.
Result: Jana Rikar and Yona Blake defeated The Mighty Now Thrive (Null & Kid Terra) by submission via Phoenix Pull (Bully Choke)
Singles Match
Lena Skye vs. Izzy Van Doren
The atmosphere changed dramatically as Lena and Izzy stared at one another, the anger evident in their eyes and body language. As the bell rang, both women rushed forward, unloading with several stiff shots on one another. The fight quickly went to the ground as Lena maneuvered into full mount, continuing to attack with strikes as Izzy tried to cover up. The ref looked to maintain some order, trying to separate the two, only for Lena to shove him to the outside. Izzy used this momentary break to attack, shoving her into the turnbuckle before connecting with more strikes to the head. Lena ducked underneath a strike, taking Izzy down with a snap German Suplex before connecting with elbow strikes to the back of the head. Blood began to stain the mat as students began to rush the ring, unable to stop Lena from locking in a rear naked choke. Students tried prying Lena off as Izzy began to flail, struggling to escape as Lena wrenched on the hold. Izzy’s arms dropped to the side as Lena continued the choke, only to be forcibly pulled off seconds later by Michael Hayden as he entered the ring. Students quickly rolled Izzy to the outside as Joe Stanton appeared, carrying her to the back. Hayden held Lena back, joined quickly by Shoot Nation as the three prevented Lena from following. With Izzy backstage, Shoot Nation began to take Lena to the back as Hayden looked on, anger and frustration on his face before he followed as well.
Romeo Black Farewell Match
Romeo Black vs. Clay Krueger
The mood considerably shifted following the events of the last match, casting an unfortunate shadow on this contest. Romeo and Clay started things off a bit uncomfortably, shaken by what they had seen much like the rest of the audience. Clay and Romeo were able to draw the fans in as the match progressed, the ageless veteran looking to force Romeo to step up to his level or perish. Romeo looked up to the challenge, managing to survive through some of the bigger attacks and push forward. Clay looked to wrap the match up with the Strike Back (Overhead Belly to Belly), but Romeo managed to land on his feet, albeit a little awkwardly. It was as he turned around that Clay went for the Chainsaw Blade (Spear), but Romeo managed to leap over before catching Clay with a roundhouse kick. A soccer kick to the chest followed by a leaping senton bomb gave Romeo some momentum, the Neon Tiger feeding off the energy of the fans. Bob-Bomb’s Away (Springboard Meteora) got a close two, followed by a Rocket Kick (Disaster Kick) that Clay just managed to kick out of. Climbing the ropes, Romeo looked out into the crowd before leaping off for the Romeo Don’t Die (Imploding 450), only to come up short as Clay rolled out of the way. As Romeo writhed on the ground, Clay leaped up, connecting with Fin del Mundo (Starship Pain) for the victory.
Result: Clay Krueger defeated Romeo Black at 13:32 by pinfall via Fin del Mundo (Starship Pain)
The Invitational - Singles Debut
Skye Healy vs. Ashley Cross
Skye received a thunderous applause, the San Diego crowd looking to support the rookie in her first singles match for Limitless. Ashley Cross received great praise as well, her record not reflecting the level of talent she’s faced in Limitless so far. While both women were still shocked by the violent display earlier, they were able to push it to the side and focus on the match at hand. Ashley quickly took advantage, wearing down Skye with several moves and shutting down any attempt at sustaining momentum. Refusing to stay down for too long, Skye looked to fight back, avoiding a splash in the corner before surprising Ashley with the NYOOOOM~~!! (Running Face Wash) for the two. Undeterred, Skye began to work over the neck, even connecting with a surprise Hand of God (Spinning Backfist) after ducking underneath a lariat attempt. With momentum on her side, Skye sent Ashley into the corner, only to miss the Skye Scraper (Helluva Kick) as Ash ducked underneath and rolled her up for a close two. Slapping the mat in frustration, Ash set Skye up, looking to connect with Cross The Streams (Down on Bended Knee). Skye managed to avoid the knee, landing on her feet before quickly delivering a drop toe hold, transfering over into the Starr Bar (Muta Lock)! Ashley tried to crawl to the ropes, but Skye wrenched on the hold, drawing the submission to cheers from the crowd.
Result: Skye Healy defeated Ashley Cross at 9:10 by submission via Starr Bar (Drop Toe Hold into Muta Lock)
Main Event
Limitless Title Match
Joe Stanton © vs. Michael Hayden
The streamers were out in full force for this one, both men receiving cheers from the crowd as they were announced. Hayden and Joe stared one another down, any previous incidents forgotten as the two locked up. What followed was a mix of styles, as the technical prowess of Hayden looked to counter the brawling nature of Joe. Hayden was quick to avoid the right hand, knowing the knock out power Joe was capable of. Instead, he began to work on the left arm and shoulder, trying to weather the power game of Joe as he worked on the arm. It looked as though Joe could get the victory after a surprise Shoryuken (Rising Uppercut), but Hayden had enough wherewithal to roll out of the ring to avoid the pin.
Rather than allow Hayden to rest, Joe went to the outside, continuing to work over the Limitless founder, tossing him into the chairs as students ushered fans to safety. Gingerly getting to his feet, Hayden had little time to react as Joe grabbed him by the hair, tossing him towards the ring. Rather than go in, Hayden rebounded off the ropes, catching Joe with a hurricanrana! The ref went to the outside, checking on Joe as Hayden roared to the delight of the crowd.
Tossing Joe into the ring, Hayden continued to work on the shoulder, softening him up for the Limitless Lock. Joe continued to fight back as much as he could, but the damage done to the left arm seemed to lessen the damage done. An attempt at Crossroads Blues (Cobra Clutch Slam) was countered into a crossface, Joe rolling out just in time and connecting with a kick that caught Hayden above the eye. Grimacing in pain, Hayden made it to his feet, only to be taken down hard by the Rock ‘n’ Roll (Rolling Belly to Belly), followed by the Keep Quiet (Sliding D) for two. As Hayden stumbled to his feet, it became apparent that Joe had opened a cut on the right eye.
Wiping the blood out, Hayden was lifted up, Joe looking to end things with Funeral For A Son (Tombstone Piledriver). Hayden began to kick, managing to slide out the back. Grabbing a cravat, Hayden launched forward with the Once In A Lifetime Experience (Forward Russian Leg Sweep), only getting a two himself. Undeterred, Hayden began to measure Joe, looking for the Hand of God. As Joe got to his feet, Hayden launched into the Spinning Backfist, only for Joe to duck underneath before leaping back up for the Shoryuken! Hayden crumbled to the mat as Joe collapsed on top, getting the three count.
Result: Joe Stanton © defeated Michael Hayden at 29:24 by pinfall via Shoryuken (Rising Uppercut)
Post match, both men continued to lie on the mat as students came to tend to both men. Joe was the first to recover, holding his Limitless title as students tended to Hayden’s injury. Making it to his feet, Hayden nodded in Joe’s direction before rolling out of the ring, being escorted to the back. Asking for the mic, Joe thanked everyone for coming out before announcing the next event, November Reign, would take place on November 17th.
Post Show
With the fallout from Izzy vs. Lena still being felt, many wrestlers had taken off to the hospital to check on her condition, save for Kem Dynamo and Lena Skye, who had left voluntarily. As a result, the only wrestlers still available after the show were Eddy Poe, Drake, Romeo Black, TMNT, and Michael Hayden. Skye Healy was also there, seen speaking with Elijah Cross as both were at the merchandise booth. Romeo Black was congratulated by the fans on a great match, with many wishing him luck in his new career.. Hayden was seen wearing an eyepatch over the injured eye, feeling the effects of his match. Nevertheless, he was happy to meet with fans, with many wondering who would be the next to challenge for the title.
