Spectre was the first wrestler out to a modest pop, the crowd eager to see who his opponent would be. “New Dawn Fades” by Joy Division gave no indication as to who it might be, the crowd growing restless as Spectre and Jake Archer began to discuss strategy. The crowd cheered wildly as Kaz Bonham removed her hood, staring into the ring as Archer and Spectre looked on in confusion. Gone was the colorful outfits, replaced by a darker color scheme as Kaz entered the ring, having refused to acknowledge the crowd’s presence.Singles Match
Stepping into the ring for the first time in a while, Kaz quickly showed she wasn’t suffering from any ring rust, matching the Die Fly hold for hold in the early going. Not to be deterred, Spectre looked to outdo Kaz in the air, flying around with ease as Jake Archer celebrated on the outside. It was as Spectre looked to springboard that Kaz struck, shoving him to the outside and into the guardrail. Going to the outside, Kaz shot a murderous look towards Archer before picking Spectre up for a hard powerslam on the mat before tossing him into the ring. The damage from the guardrail handicapped Spectre throughout the match, stopping him from gaining much ground. Kaz was more than happy to take advantage, rolling out of the way of a moonsault before dropping Spectre with the Valley Girl Driver (Snap Piledriver), followed by the Dixie Stampede (Double Stomp) for the dominant win.
Result: Kaz Bonham defeated Spectre at 9:19 by pinfall via Dixie Stampede (Double Stomp)
Match Two
Mystery
HA! HA! No, it’s not Jesse King, it’s the current Sakura Pro Tag Team Champs, Knight ‘N Day! Jessica Knight and Dakota Day make their way to the ring, Dakota making sure to shake hands while Jessica proudly declares herself to be a “10 Foot Golden God!” Her opponents will have something to say, as Coheed & Cambria plays, signaling the arrival of Kem Dynamo! The Burning Star isn’t alone for too long, as a wolf howl brings out the excitable Yona Blake! The Burning Wolves make their way to the ring, Kem eyeing the Sakura Pro tag titles as ref Molly Wheeler signals for the bell.
The unorthodox style of Yona and power of Kem was on display here, as the Sakura Tag champs found themselves reeling on more than one occasion. Jessica’s insistence on matching Kem power for power would up costing her, as Kem blocked an attempt at a chokeslam before firing off an STO out of nowhere that nearly got the victory. Dakota took over at this point, wrestling a more technical style that brought her team back from the brink. Yona looked to change that with her feral style, but Dakota weathered the storm, narrowly moving out of the way of Yona’s Roly Poly cannonball to take the advantage once more. It was as Dakota looked to soften Yona up that Kem struck, surprising Dakota with the Bad Luck Charm (Running Enzugiri). Looking to get the win, Kem lifted Yona in the air for the Bass Cannon (Powerbomb toss into Hip Attack), only for Jessica to reappear with a chop block, knocking Kem down and forcing Yona to land on top of her. Jessica grabbed the surprised Yona before she could react, connecting with the Knighthood (Chokeslam) before covering her for the sudden, if not surprising three count.
Result: Knight ‘N Day (Jessica Knight & Dakota Day) defeated Kem Dynamo & Yona Blake at 10:42 by pinfall via Knighthood (Chokeslam)
Match Three
Singles Match
The sounds of a ticking clock are heard before a loud boom rocks the building, the fans cheering as Jana Rikar, the new JWC Champion, comes out with a huge smile on her face! The JWC Title is proudly displayed as Jana high fives the fans, rolling into the ring and awaiting her opponent. She doesn’t need to wait long as the fans let out a mighty cheer for her opponent, “Boston’s Favorite Son” Nate Anderson! The positive-thinking wrestler is all smiles as he greets his fellow Bay Staters. Entering the ring, he gives a smile to his opponent before shaking her hand as the ref signals for the bell.
Whether due to still feeling the effects of the plane ride or her last match, Jana seems to be a step behind Nate in the early goings of the match. As the minutes ticked by Jana looked to gain her footing, catching Nate making rookie mistakes or sidestepping a possible rolling kneebar. Nate wouldn’t be denied in his home state, continuing to fight back as Jana regained more of her footing. Nate went for his patented Jaw Wired Shut Superkick, narrowly missing his target as Jana sidestepped the attack and grabbed him for a german suplex. Nate landed on his feet, measuring his target before connecting with Jaw Wired Shut! Jana stumbled slightly as Nate scooped her up for the Nate Bomb (Ligerbomb), only getting a nearfall. Lifting Jana up, Nate positioned her for another Nate Bomb, only for Jana to slip out before getting him in the Kessler-Lock (Crossface)! The crowd began to will the home state hero to the ropes, desperate to see him succeed tonight. As he inched closer, Jana rolled them out of position, only for Nate to stop her mid-roll for a pin! No! Jana released at the last second, saving the match. Getting to her feet, Jana looked to press the advantage, only for Nate to surprise her with another superkick for her troubles. Stumbling backwards, Jana was in prime position for the Boston Knee Party, the crowd counting along as Nate picked up the victory in a hard fought contest.
Result: Nate Anderson defeated Jana Rikar at 15:23 by pinfall via Boston Knee Party
Post match, Nate and Jana shook hands as a sign of respect before Nate lifted Jana’s hand in the air, the crowd cheering for both competitors. Jana was the first to exit, giving Nate a moment to celebrate with the fans before he too made his way to the back.
Match Four
Singles Match
The sounds of GWAR filled the building as Big Van Bulk stomped out, letting out a pleased roar to the receptive crowd. The big man looked pleased as he entered the ring, once more letting out a roar that the fans cheered for. As he awaited his opponent, strange sounds could be heard before giving way to “Futuristic Casket” as Anna Mathews made her way out to cheers from the crowd. Bulk looked on confused, wondering aloud where the police box was as Anna entered the ring.
Looking to make an impact in his Limitless debut, Bulk quickly rushed Anna, sandwiching her in the corner before taking her down with the Bulkbuster (scrapbuster) for a close two. Picking Anna up, Bulk hit a samoan drop that once again got a two, as did a a running splash. Growing frustrated, Bulk picked Anna up, only to be caught surprise by a quick jab that sent him stumbling back. Anna launched forward, connecting with the Boomerfly Kick that sent Bulk to the outside. As Bulk got to his feet, Anna come flying through the ropes, connecting with a suicide dive!
Back in the ring, Anna and Bulk continue to trade the advantage, Bulk through pure brawling while Anna used a mixture of punches, kicks, and unorthodox wrestling. Anna’s experience helped give her the edge late in the match, dodging the Golden Lasso Lariat before firing off a hurricanrana that took Bulk down. Measuring her opponent, Anna went for the Dark Side of the Moon (Shining Triangle), only for Bulk to surprise everyone by countering into a powerbomb for a close two! Looking to end this, Bulk dragged Anna to the corner before climbing the ropes, looking for the Sex Bob-Omb (Vader Bomb). As Bulk leaped off, Anna rolled out of the ring, causing Bulk to crash and burn on the mat. Seeing Bulk in position, Anna quickly scaled the ropes, flying off with Cake Or Death? (Red Arrow) for the victory in a tough contest.
Result: Anna Matthews defeated Big Van Bulk at 11:41 by pinfall via Cake Or Death? (Red Arrow)
Intermission
With certain names having already competed, the wrestlers were able to meet with fans during intermission. Nate Anderson was a popular choice, with many Bay Staters stopping by to get their photo and say hello. Jessica Knight was loudly declaring herself to be the best after her match, going so far as to declare Knight ‘N Day the uncrowned Limitless Tag Team Champions. Kem Dynamo could be seen eyeing the champs while Yona Blake and Jana Rikar took photos with fans.
Match Five
Mystery
An air raid siren blares throughout the building before fading into “Two Tribes” as the crowd IMMEDIATELY boos, knowing who’s coming out next. Sure enough, NO MERSEY came out, Gaz and Nathan basking in the boos before heading to ringside. Stepping into the ring, NO MERSEY began to jaw with the crowd before “Morning Glory” by Oasis played, drawing out Ashley Cross and Skye Healy! The two made their way to the ring, ignoring the looks of disgust shared by Gaz and Nathan.
Ashley and Nathan were the first to start the match, the Liverpool native using his speed to frustrate Ashley before getting caught with a stiff palm strike that sent him reeling. Gaz tagged in, looking to use his catch style to get the advantage. Ashley was more than willing to match him, spinning out of a wristlock and blasting Gaz with a brutal forearm that sent him stumbling into the corner. Making the tag, Ash and Skye sent Gaz into the ropes, connecting with a double hip toss before sandwiching Gaz with a double running hip attack to the delight of the crowd!
Skye continue the attack, connecting with a switchblade kick that only got a two count. Sending Gaz into the corner, Skye went for her NYOOOOM~~!! (Running Face Wash), only for Gaz to counter with a Shoegazer (Mushroom Stomp). Making the tag to Nathan, NO MERSEY slowly began to wear down the young Limitless graduate. Using a mixture of catch wrestling, high flying, and a liberal amount of cheating, NO MERSEY weakened Skye, coming close on several occasions to getting the win. But Skye showed that she was more than a former interviewer, fighting back several times only for Gaz and Nathan to cheat their way back into control. It was as NO MERSEY went to hit their step up Say Hello To Liverpool (Elevated Running Shooting Star Press) that Skye saw her chance, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid Nathan crashing onto the mat. Sensing something wrong, Gaz got to his feet, only to be taken down by a running reverse STO! Skye crawled over to the corner, leaping to make the tag just as Nathan looked to grab the leg.
Coming in a house of fire, Ashley took it to the Liverpool Lads, surprising Nathan with a running european uppercut before a dropkick sent Gaz to the outside. Feeling good, Ash lifted Nathan, only to be surprised by an eye rake that left her vulnerable to a dragon suplex. Shaking the cobwebs, Nathan began to set Ashley up for the Born to Run, only for Skye to surprise him with the running busaiku knee smash! Heading to the top, Skye positioned herself as Ashley held Nathan in a DDT position. As Skye looked to leap, Gaz shoved her off onto the floor below, drawing both the ref and Ashley’s attention. With Ash distracted, Nathan reached into his trunks, putting on a pair of brass knuckles. As he went to strike, Shoot Nation appeared from the crowd, sliding into the ring and taking Nathan down with the Shooting Gallery (Hart Attack) before sliding out of the ring. Gaz tried to get the ref to notice the attack, but Skye pulled him off the apron, causing his head to hit the mat. Inside the ring, Ash wasted no time locking in the Limit Break (Nagata Lock III), drawing out the submission in a chaotic finish.
Result: Ashley Cross & Skye Healy defeated NO MERSEY (Gaz McGuinty & Nathan Wayne) at 14:13 by submission via Limit Break (Nagata Lock III)
As Skye and Ashley celebrated their victory, Shoot Nation gave a mocking round of applause to NO MERSEY, who sneered in their direction before they made their way to the back.
Special Challenge Match
Lena Skye vs. Michael Hayden
HA HA! No, it’s not Jessica Knight. It’s Jake Archer once more, jaw still hurting from the earlier match. He’s still in high spirits, loudly championing Lena Skye as she makes her way to the ring. The loudmouth manager is at stark contrast to the calm Skye, who simply waits in the corner for her opponent. She doesn’t need to wait long, as “Fight to Survive” plays to thunderous cheers from the crowd. Michael Hayden steps out, still wearing the eyepatch as he high fives the fans in the front rows. Lena’s smile only grows as she tells Archer “I’m leaving with that eyepatch!”, drawing a look from Hayden as he steps into the ring. Before the bell rings, Hayden points at Archer, telling him to head to the back and let Lena go it alone. Archer looks to throw a fit, but Lena stops him, assuring him that she’s got this. Jake reluctantly heads to the back as the crowd chants “Na na na na” at him, drawing a smile from both competitors as the bell rings.
Very quickly Lena looks to make good on her promise, tackling Hayden to the ground and looking to remove the eyepatch by force. Hayden wiggles out, only to be caught in a side headlock as Lena tries once again. A backdrop buys Hayden some time, but Lena still persists, leaping in the air and clawing at the eyepatch. Panicking, Hayden rushes forward, slamming her into the turnbuckle repeatedly until Lena lets go of the hold. Readjusting the eyepatch, Hayden began to work over the left arm, softening it up for the Limitless Lock. A fujiwara armbar looked like it might draw the submission early in the match, but Lena fought through the pain, shifting her body before managing to throw a knee at the uninjured eye. Hayden clutched at the eye in pain, giving Lena some time to rest her shoulder before going on the offensive.
Looking to break Hayden down, Lena began to toss him around with ease, drawing gasps from the crowd. A big boot followed by a german suplex got a near fall, as did a running spear. Feeling confident, Lena positioned herself, looking to connect with the Tornado Warning (Discus Big Boot). As she turned, Hayden countered into an exploder suplex, sending her flying across the ring. Getting to her feet, Lena tried rushing again, only to be caught with the Fist of God (Superman Punch) for a two count. Looking to end it, Hayden lifted Lena onto his shoulders for Haydenism (Dominator GTS), only for Lena to slip out behind him and lock in the rear naked choke! From the Heavens! Lena quickly took Hayden to the mat, wrenching on the choke as Hayden clawed for the ropes. Reaching back, Lena used a free hand to rip off the eyepatch, holding her trophy in the air; this gave Hayden the opportunity to break free from the grasp. Getting to his feet, Hayden was caught with a forearm to the unprotected eye, leaving open to be spiked with the Skye Destroyer (Sitout Tombstone Piledriver) for the emphatic victory.
Result: Lena Skye defeated Michael Hayden by pinfall at 17:38 by pinfall via Skye Destroyer (Sitout Tombstone Piledriver)
Post match, Hayden took the mic and congratulated Lena on the hard fought win. Hayden said she could keep the eyepatch before tossing the mic to her and rolling out, getting a cheer from the crowd and a rare smile from Lena as he went to the back.
Main Event
Limitless Title Match
Joe Stanton (c) vs. Dom Harter
Before the match began, Dom Harter took to the microphone to thank the fans in Worcester for coming out to support him tonight – despite the boos that accompanied his entrance. The ‘hometown hero’ told them all that he’s been looking forward to coming back to this city, ever since the day he got the hell out of Worcester five years ago! But throughout all his travels, Harter knew he’d be back here one day, and ready to knock Joe Stanton the fuck out and win the Limitless title! With that, Dom threw the microphone down and took off his leather jacket, ready for his opponent.
Joe’s absence had been noted on social media, with many wondering if the Limitless champion would show up to defend the title. After several seconds passed, Michael Hayden came back out, sliding into the ring and calling the referee over. As the two discussed something, the lights in the building went dark, drawing a cheer from the crowd. Only a few seconds passed before the opening sounds of “Paint It Black” began to play, the crowd murmuring as a lone light shone on the entrance way. From out of the curtain stepped the Limitless champion Joe Stanton, eyes staring straight into the ring. Joe made his way slowly to the ring, moving as though he were in a trance as he circled ringside. Stepping into the ring, Joe paused only to remove the belt before thrusting it in Hayden’s hands, eyes staring through Dom as Hayden stepped outside.
As the bell rang, the eerily calm demeanor of Joe was replaced by a feral state as he tore into Dom, tackling him into the corner before attacking with every strike possible. Joe was a blur of motion as punches, elbows, knees, and forearms with thrown with wild abandon. The ref moved to separate the two, only to be tossed aside before Joe went for another punch. Dom was able to duck underneath before trapping Joe in the corner, firing off several kicks before sending him into the opposite corner. Joe barely had time to react before Dom rushed forward, connecting with a double knee lift before sending Joe to the mat and firing off a kick to the spine. Joe simply grimaced in pain as Harter picked him up, looking to connect with a DDT. Joe managed to stand his ground, blocking the attempt before lifting Dom in the air and tossing him to the side. Not giving Dom a chance to recover, Joe rushed forward, blasting Dom with a Keep Quiet (Sliding D) for two.
The champ kept the advantage, continuing to wear down the hometown hero with a mean streak that few had seen before. Dom would continue to fight, but Joe was able to stop him from gaining too much momentum and turn the tide. A ripcord headbutt was met with a blank stare before Joe hit a headbutt of his own, stunning Dom long enough for a Rock ‘n’ Roll (Belly to Belly Suplex) for another two count. Snarling, Joe lifted Dom, only to be surprised by a lightning fast spinebuster! Dom stayed on the offensive, dodging a left hand before delivering a knee to the gut. With Joe bent over, Dom scooped him up before landing a turnbuckle powerbomb! As Joe stumbled out, Dom surprised everyone with a pop-up powerbomb! Fuckboi Bomb MK I & II only got a two count as the crowd began cheering for Harter!
Feeding off the energy, Dom began to size Joe up, kicking him in the gut before looking to connect with the Last Exit (Double Underhook Piledriver). As he went to lift, Joe countered with a backdrop before connecting with another Keep Quiet. Unsatisfied, Joe lifted Dom up, setting him up for Funeral For A Son (Tombstone Piledriver). As he looked to connect, Dom slipped out the back, connecting with a strong lariat that sent Joe down. Not willing to take any chances, Dom lifted Joe, looking to end things with the Mors Proditoris (Rainmaker). As he looked to pull Joe in for the lariat, Joe connected with a surprise Shoryuken (Rising Uppercut)! Dom crumpled to the mat as Joe landed on top of him, beginning to repeatedly headbutt the prone form of Joe as the crowd began to fall silent. As Joe repeated the attack, the ref checked on Dom’s condition before signalling for the bell, ending the match.
Result: Joe Stanton (c) defeated Dom Harter at 23:19 via ref stoppage
Joe continued the attack, either not hearing the official decision or choosing to ignore it outright. The ref looked to intervene, only to be shoved through the ropes and onto the floor. Joe continued the attack, pausing only to shove more officials as they looked to intervene before being forcibly pulled off by Hayden locking in the Limitless Lock, choosing to hold him in place rather than apply pressure as Dom was carried to the back. Once Dom was safe, Hayden released the hold before rolling to his feet, both men’s eyes burning with anger. Hayden began to yell at Joe, demanding to know what had happened during Joe’s absence. Joe’s only response was to grab the Limitless title, shuffling to the back as Hayden looked on in frustration.
Post Show
A dark cloud hung over the crowd at the result of the main event, with the wrestlers feeling conflicted as well. Many were still willing to meet with fans, especially Lena Skye who came out wearing the eyepatch. Skye Healy and Ashley Cross were surprised by Ash’s brother Elijah, who gave both women a hug and congratulated them on their victory. Jessica Knight and Jake Archer certainly stole the show, getting into a Laugh-Off that provided much needed laughs, if inadvertently.
